This year's Hike for Hospice will be a little different than past hikes.
Hospice chair Jay McFarlan said like so many events this year, they've had to make a few adjustments for COVID-19.
"This year it's happening on Sunday, June 14. And being that we're in a pandemic, we have to practice some safe physical distancing, so everyone can hike where they like, whenever they like on June 14. And it can still be a virtual event, we're just not going to gather all in one spot this year," said McFarlan.
McFarlan said the pandemic has made fund-raising a real challenge for the Huron Hospice but they still have a lot of services to offer and there is still a need for those services.
He said the hospice is almost full almost all of the time and their community program continues to support people in their home, virtually, over the phone and through platforms like Zoom.
McFarlan said people can get more information about the hike and how they can participate by going to the Huron Hospice web site under events.
