New fundraiser for Victim Services Huron

Victim Services Huron has replaced their usual annual fundraiser with a 50/50 online fundraiser to help support the victims and volunteers within Huron County.

Since 2009, Dancing With The Stars brought in thousands of dollars each year to support those in Huron County who are victims of tragic circumstances.

Victim Services relies on these funds to support the community, but due to the COVID pandemic, the event had to be cancelled this year.

50/50 Tickets are available for purchase at www.victimservices.5050.ca at either 3 for $5.00, 10 for $10.00 or 60 tickets for $20.00. The winner will be announced at noon on October 25, 2020.

“We were saddened that we’re unable to host the Dancing With The Stars event this year due to COVID restrictions. It‘s always a fun and highly anticipated night in our community,” said Deborah Logue, executive director of Victim Services. “With the loss of our main fundraiser, we looked for online opportunities to raise money and discovered the 50/50 draw. We’re excited to take on this new initiative so we can continue to raise money to support the survivors of crime and tragedy in our community.”

When tickets are purchased online, a receipt with the 50/50 registered numbers, from a random selection system, will be emailed. The winner can choose to have a cheque mailed to them, comprising half the amount of ticket sales, or pick up their winnings at the Victim Services office located at 325 Albert St., Clinton, ON.

Victim Services Huron is a registered charity that works closely with police, emergency medical services, and social service advocates to ensure members of our community are supported during and immediately after a crisis or traumatic event, such as domestic violence, sexual assault, theft, fraud, homicide, fire, motor vehicle collisions, etc.
