The deadline for applications for funding from Huron County's Supporting Local Economic Development, or SLED program will be the end of this month, or until the funding is all gone.
Economic Development Director, Cody Joudry, explains funding of up to ten-thousand dollars is available to municipalities or registered non-profits for projects that support the business community.
"Generally speaking, projects that are supporting the business community, or tackling strategic issues like Ag Diversification, or creating just exceptional visitor experiences, directing the work force, those type of things."
Joudry says they've had some B-I-As and municipalities apply for funding. They've also had some non-profits like Chambers of Commerce apply and they've also had interest from other non-profits.
He says the program was opened up in mid-February.
"We opened the program up mid-February and it was a first-come first-served basis. The program is about a half to two-thirds committed and the deadline to apply would be March 31 of this year."
Anyone wishing to apply should email economicdevelopment@huroncounty.ca outlining their interest in the SLED program and a one paragraph outline of the kind of project they're considering.
