Huron County's Tourism Development Officer says this year's Alice Munro Festival will be a little different.
“The festival is virtual, but it is live, so we are doing things in real time online and you'll be hearing the author read in real time and you will be able to ask questions and they will be answering questions in real time as part of the event as well,” said Rick Sickinger.
Sickinger says the Alice Munro Festival has been around for about twenty years and in its current format, about six years. The Festival runs from June 4th to June 6th with a line-up of eight award-winning Canadian authors. The event features six author readings, two writing masterclasses, and the awards ceremony for the Festival’s annual short story contest.
“It focuses on the short story that Alice Munro is best known for, so we feature Canadian authors that work in that format, but we also feature Canadian authors that write long form fiction, like novels and non-fiction.”
