Huron County has unveiled a new platform to enhance community engagement.
In a release on May 27th, the county says with the launch of Huron County Connects, it will "provide community members more opportunities to become informed and ‘Have Their Say’ on a variety of projects and initiatives led or coordinated by the County." Huron County is hoping that the ability for more people to easily contribute to discussions and issues will help improve decisions made at the county level on a variety of projects and community needs.
The new Huron County Connects platform will include things like surveys, quizzes, forums, Q&A’s, maps, stories, multimedia and more to allow residents to lend their voices to many different county wide items. Huron County Warden, Glen McNeil, says the platform is a way for Huron County to connect with our residents and enable our residents to be part of a virtual community dialogue and engagement and this will benefit all of our communities throughout Huron County.
“It's a way for Huron County to connect with our residents and enable our residents to be part of a virtual community dialogue and engagement and this will benefit all of our communities throughout Huron County," McNeil says. "It's two-way communication and Huron County is very enthused about this. We want to connect with our residents for the betterment of all of our residents throughout Huron County.”
McNeil adds, everyone in the community should be offered the opportunity, not only to become informed on local matters, but to also contribute to public projects.
