Flags will be flown at half mast at all federal buildings and Ontario government buildings Monday in memory of the 215 children whose bodies were discovered at a former B.C. residential school.
The discovery was made last week in Kamloops.
Indigenous leaders are asking the federal government to declare a national day of mourning and urging all level of governments to search other former residential school sites for unmarked graves.
Over social media, posts from users across the country are urging people to place a teddy bear outside their front door at 6 p.m. Monday.
And multiple images of graphics with the words "every child matters" have been shared across social media platforms.
More than 130 residential schools were in operation across the country and some were still open as late as 1996.
