Kincardine Cruise Nights are shifting gears in response to this summer’s Downtown Dig. The municipality has announced the popular summer event will be held Saturday, August 5, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Kincardine Municipal Airport on Highway 21.
The event usually kicks off long weekends in the summer on Friday nights.
In 2022, there was record-breaking attendance. Over 300 vehicles lined the street each evening, while more than 1,100 collector and special interest vehicles participated.
This year’s shift to having a single-day event allows for organizers to gear up for a unique experience, including: • Prizes for entrants • Pop-up vendor booths from local downtown businesses • 50/50 Draw sponsored by the Kincardine & Community Health Care Foundation • Grand Prize Shopping Spree draw
“After missing two years because of the pandemic, the return of Cruise Nights to Kincardine in 2022 was exciting,” said volunteer organizer Don Jones. “With the amazing crowds last summer, we were a little heartbroken to hear the Downtown Dig would interrupt our normal plans, but we also know it’s work that needs to be done.”
Kincardine Cruise Day is free to participants and spectators thanks to the sponsorship and support of local businesses. Organizers are looking forward to the August 5 event and returning to their home on the newly refurbished Queen Street in the summer of 2024.
