Saugeen Valley Conservation surveys residents on accessibility

The Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority wants to hear from residents of Bruce, Dufferin, Huron, Grey, and Wellington Counties.  The Conservation Authority has launched of a public survey as part of a plan to improve accessibility.

Residents can find the survey online or pick up a print copy to provide their thoughts on physical and information accessibility. The survey will ask for opinions on conservation properties, the website, the permit process, and watershed report cards, among other things.

The authority will use the data collected to help identify where they can make improvements, and then they'll come up with a plan to make improvements. They hope the results will help them understand the needs and preferences of the community. The goal is to create a more inclusive and welcoming environment.

"We believe that everyone should be able to enjoy the natural beauty and resources that our conservation areas have to offer. Further, we believe that the permitting and planning processes and accessibility of our water resource data catalogue should be accessible to all and easily understandable. This survey is an important step towards identifying and addressing any barriers to accessibility and learning from our community's experiences," said General Manager and Secretary-Treasurer Jennifer Stephens.

The public survey will be open until April 24, 2023. Printed copies of the survey are available at the SVCA administrative office in Formosa.
