Huron Perth Health Care Alliance CEO Andrew Williams says they're very happy with the funding they received this year for infrastructure projects for their hospitals.
Williams says the amount they get varies from year to year.
“We budget a certain figure and then obviously it gets confirmed when announced and certainly we were very pleased with the dollar figures received this year. And each year it ebbs and flows based on the projects we're focusing on and our internal capacity to complete projects within the prescribed period of time," Williams explained.
Each of the four Alliance hospitals received infrastructure funding.
“In Clinton we're going to be completing an air handling unit, a replacement project that is ongoing and we're also looking at an overall refresh of our inpatient units, looking at the infrastructure in inpatient rooms and that's across all of our sites," Williams shared. “In Seaforth, we're looking at sprinkler projects completion and cooling tower replacement. In St. Marys, we're looking at a loading dock completion, some of our access stores needing to be replaced and in Stratford, we're looking at window replacements and cooling in our I-T areas.”
Williams explains the projects are not projects that they could raise funds for in the community. He says they're very grateful to the community for that, but it's earmarked for equipment rather than infrastructure projects, so they also very much appreciate the funding they receive from the Province.
The Clinton Hospital received $222,900, the Seaforth Hospital received $166,400, Stratford received $2,086,448 and St. Marys received $396,461.
