People can read over a draft of the Avon Maitland District School Board's (AMDSB) new Multi-Year Accessibility Plan (MYAP).
The plan aims to identify, remove and prevent barriers to people with disabilities who work, learn and participate in the Board’s community and environment. That includes students, staff, parents and guardians, volunteers and visitors to the Board office buildings, its schools and Centres for Employment and Learning.
An Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act working group (AODA) put together the new guide which will be in place for five years from 2024-2029, and will replace the 2018-2023 MYAP. Students, staff and the community can now voice their opinions before finalization of the plan.
More information is available on the AMDSB website.
“We would like to gather feedback from anyone in the community about our newly drafted Multi-year Accessibility Plan," said Cheri Carter, Superintendent of Corporate Services. "We want to ensure that the details are clear and the format is easy to follow, before we finalize the plan.”
To submit feedback, people should review the MYAP on the board's MYAP page and complete a very brief google form by Wednesday March 27.
