Stratford police are looking for a pair of teens after an attack sent a man to hospital with a head injury.
The man had gone to the railway tracks in the area of Erie Street and Monteith Avenue shortly before 12:30 a.m. March 19 after hearing what he believed to be shots from an air-soft pistol.
He encountered two teenagers who pointed the firearm in his direction and allegedly threatened to kill him. The man tried to walk away but was then hit in the back of the head with an unknown object. He fell to the ground and the teens took off running west down the tracks, police said.
A passerby stopped and helped the man, but left before police arrived. The man was taken to the Stratford
General Hospital for treatment of a head injury.
Police described the first suspect as a 16-year-old White male, approximately 5’0” tall with a slim build and brown hair. He was wearing a black bandana as a facemask, a light blue hoodie, light blue jeans, and white running shoes. It is believed this is the teen who had the firearm, police said.
The second suspect is described as a 16-year-old white male, approximately 5’8” with a slim build, brown medium length hair, a brown thin moustache, and a stubble-like goatee. He was wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans, and white running shoes. He also was carrying a scooter at the time of the incident.
Police are asking anyone who can identify the two teens or who has any information about this incident to call them at 519-271-4141 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-222-TIPS (8477).
