The Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health is prepping to host another virtual lecture, this time on isotopes.
Specifically, the advantage that isotopes offer Southwestern Ontario through the The Southwestern Ontario Isotope Coalition.
The lecture, titled Our Isotope Advantage, will feature guest speaker Jessica Linthorne, the President and Chief Executive Officer at the Nuclear Innovation Institute (NII).
Attendees of this virtual event will learn about how medical isotopes are "great tools used by medical professionals to diagnose and treat health conditions ranging from cancer to heart disease. The isotopes offer great economic opportunities for the region through numerous partnerships.
The lecture will be Tuesday, June 3 from 12-1 p.m. via Zoom.
Joining Linthorne on a panel will be Dr. Leslie Walker, Executive Director at Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health, Trevor Bazinet, Mayor of the Town of Goderich and Karin Stephenson, McMaster’s first Director of Nuclear Research and Education Support.
