Potential election candidates in Perth County can learn more about running for municipal office through a pair of upcoming information sessions.
Stratford, St. Marys, North Perth, Perth East, West Perth, and Perth South are jointly hosting the Election Candidate Information Sessions for residents considering candidacy in the fall.
The sessions will be led by experienced trainers from Clerks On Call and are designed to provide prospective candidates with essential information to help them make informed decisions before entering the municipal election process.
Topics covered will include key personal and financial considerations, the roles and responsibilities of council members and municipal staff, the importance of transparency and accountability in local government and strategies for engaging with the media and the public.
The first session will be held in St Marys on Wednesday, February 25 at the Pyramid Recreation Centre End Zone from 6 to 9 p.m.
The second will take place in Milverton on Wednesday, March 25 at the Perth East Recreation Complex, also from 6 to 9 p.m.
