Huron Shores Hospice is reaching out to residents across the region for feedback as it plans the next phase of hospice and end-of-life care in the community.
The organization has launched a brief community survey to gather input from local residents and help shape future programs and services. Leaders say community perspectives are vital as the hospice continues to grow and respond to changing needs.
The feedback initiative comes as Huron Shores Hospice moves ahead with plans to add a third hospice suite, expanding its capacity to provide compassionate, residential end-of-life care close to home. As development progresses, the organization wants to ensure services reflect the priorities and experiences of the people it serves.
The two-minute survey asks residents about their awareness and understanding of residential hospice care, as well as their thoughts on grief and bereavement supports. Participants are also invited to share whether they feel there are gaps in caregiver resources, what matters most to them at the end of life, and how comfortable they are discussing advance care planning. Another section explores how well the community understands what hospice care includes — and what it does not.
All responses will remain confidential, and organizers stated the information gathered will directly influence how programs are strengthened and expanded. In addition to residential care, the hospice is exploring ways to enhance grief support services, caregiver assistance, and public education on end-of-life planning.

Huron Shores Hospice says broad participation will help ensure that compassionate, community-driven care remains accessible and responsive for individuals and families throughout the region.
