Seven is the lucky number for a Chatsworth woman who won the top prize in an OLG scratch game.
Karen W. is $77,777 richer after winning a Diamond 7s ticket.
The 71-year-old retiree said she initially thought she had just won $77.
"I immediately took a picture of the ticket and sent it to my husband, saying, ‘I won $77!’" Karen said in an OLG release. "He texted me back and said, ‘That’s not $77 — it’s $77,000!’"
She plans to celebrate her win with a well-deserved shopping spree; including a new barbecue, new cellphones for her and her husband, groceries, and a nice new pair of shoes.
"I’m going to treat myself to comfortable sandals — even if they’re not on sale," she said.
The winning ticket was purchased at Food Basics on 16th Street East in Owen Sound.
