Huron Shores Area Transit (HSAT) will increase the price of its monthly pass by $20 starting next month.
The bus line with local stops in Exeter, Grand Bend, Bayfield and Goderich, says effective September 1, the monthly pass will cost $160.
HSAT said it recently secured long-term financial stability to 2030, after years of uncertainty. However, the line was still forced to end a seasonal express line from Sarnia to Grand Bend due to a drop in ridership.
The company said its change in monthly fares is "part of its ongoing commitment to maintaining a financially sustainable rural transit system while continuing to provide affordable transportation throughout the region."
HSAT noted that the Monthly Pass remains one of the most affordable among comparable rural transit systems in Ontario.
