Huron County residents can meet municipal candidates at one of six upcoming events

Voters in Huron County can learn more about the people running for municipal office during six upcoming evening events.

The Huron Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Candidate Conversations series at various locations throughout the county starting Wednesday night. Each evening will be divided into two parts: a moderated conversation with candidates, followed by an informal meet-and-greet.

During the moderated portion, candidates running for mayor, reeve, deputy mayor, and deputy reeve will answer questions from a moderator and explain their priorities, perspectives, and approach to municipal leadership.

The meet-and-greet will allow all candidates, including those running for councillor positions, to speak one-on-one with residents about their campaigns and priorities.

The event schedule is as follows:

  • Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh: September 9 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Kingsbridge Centre

  • Goderich: September 13 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Livery

  • Bluewater: September 28 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Zurich Community Centre

  • South Huron: September 30, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at South Huron District High School

  • North Huron: October 6, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at F.E. Madill Secondary School in Wingham

  • Huron East: October 7, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Seaforth Public School

Anyone wanting to submit concerns and topics for the moderated portion of the evenings can do so by contacting the Chamber.

All of the evenings are free to attend.
