Charges have been laid against a Hanover dad who allegedly began swearing and yelling after showing up drunk to pick up his child from school.
Hanover police said they were called to the incident at a local school on Tuesday.
The investigation determined that a man arrived at the end of the school day and began yelling and swearing. He was reportedly impaired by alcohol and had vomit on his shirt.
Police had initially stated that the man uttered racial slurs during the incident, but a representative from the Bluewater District School Board said they were unable to verify any such comments were made.
The man was arrested and charged with causing a disturbance.
"We remain committed to supporting our schools in creating safe spaces for their students and have zero tolerance for bad behaviour," said Police Chief Christopher Knoll.
The Children's Aid Society was notified about the incident.
