The Exeter Hawks are making a habit of letting the other team getting a lead and playing catch up.
In Game 3 of their PJHL Schmalz Cup semi-final, Grimsby scored twice in 21 seconds to take a 2-1 lead after the first period.
But then Exeter took over, more accurately Exeter Hawks' forward Max Bannon took over. He scored a hat trick, the first of which tied it in the second. He scored the next two in the third period as Exeter won 4-2.
That gives the Hawks a 2-1 series lead with Game 4 in Exeter Tuesday at 8 p.m.
Exeter could be without one of their top scorers for that contest. Liam Melady was flagged for instigating and fighting in the third period which also carries a game misconduct. Andrew Ceolin was the other half that tilt and the Peach King also given five for fighting and a game misconduct.
In the other series, Napanee shut out Alliston 5-0 to take a 3-0 series lead.
