Tecumseh fire crews rushed to Advance Engineering in the 2000-block of North Talbot Sunday at around 10pm.
Firefighters were greeted by heavy smoke and the fire was quickly upgraded.
It didn't take long to get the fire under control, but flames did cause $1-million in damage to a machine inside.
Investigators say a faulty machine sparked the blaze.
Tecumseh fire didn't report any injuries.
