The Roman Catholic Diocese of London is opening a new church in Lakeshore.
The Dioceses says the Good Shepherd church is scheduled to open later this week after a $7-million fundraising campaign.
The church will officially be opened and blessed by Bishop Ronald Fabbro on August 18.
A special Mass will be held at 7pm.
The new church is located at 462 Advance Blvd. and replaces the former churches of St. Gregory the Great in Tecumseh and St. William’s in Emeryville.
The changes were planned to best serve local parishioners in the future.
The pastor of Good Shepherd is Reverend Gary Goyeau.
