Transit Windsor has 24 new diesel buses.
They cost of $12.7-million and were bought with the help of the federal government.
Transit Windsor Executive Director Pat Delmore says they have new cameras and other technology to track where riders get on and off the bus.
He says previously, Transit Windsor couldn't track where riders got off the bus.
Delmore also says the goal is to replace eight old buses every year and this federal funding fast-tracks that by three years.

Mayor Drew Dilkens says the new air-conditioned buses should make expanding public transit into Tecumseh and Lakeshore easier, something that has been discussed for years.
"There are many areas in Essex County that we should look at in terms of regionalization, transit being one of them," says Dilkens.
The mayor says bus routes are also being reviewed to better link them to other routes like cycling paths.
Dilkens says the expansion of public transit into Lasalle provides a framework to expand into other municipalities.
"We look for other opportunities in Essex County to be able to provide a way for people to get to and from the city and their physician appointments and to and from work most importantly," the mayor says.
Dilkens says regional transit would solve many employment problems in the area.
"These buses allow us to have that conversation to build the system and expand the system in a way that makes sense for our city and entire region," he says.
Minister of Infrastructure and Communities Amarjeet Sohi visited the downtown bus terminal Monday morning to check the two buses on display.
He says the federal government will continue investing in public transit despite the provincial government cancelling cap and trade programs.
As far as what impact the program cancellation will have on Transit Windsor, Delmore says it's under review.
120 new bus shelters, also funded by Ottawa, are being installed across the city beginning this week and should all be in place by early November.
