The Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board has sent home more classes due to COVID-19 cases.
The local health unit has directed the board to dismiss two classes from St. Anne Catholic High School in Lakeshore, one class plus one bus cohort from St. Pius X Catholic Elementary in Tecumseh, and one class plus one bus cohort from St. Louis Catholic Elementary in Leamington.
Board spokesman Stephen Fields said one positive case was confirmed at each school.
"We have notified the affected students that they are not to attend school Wednesday. The health unit will notify those students when they are able to return to school," said Fields in an email to WindsorNewsToday.ca.
Classes for students who were not told to stay home will go on Wednesday as usual. Parents of the affected students have already been notified.
The board has asked parents to screen their kids each morning before sending them to school. If they have symptoms or are waiting for the results of a COVID-19 test, they should be kept home and a health care provider contacted for further instructions.
There were 25 active students cases tied to the WECDSB as of Tuesday night, according to its website. There are a total of 12 buildings involved, with one, Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Elementary in Stoney Point, reporting eight cases.

Since Monday, there have been new cases at Eastwood Public, Hugh Beaton Public, John Campbell Public, Lakeshore Discovery, Leamington District Secondary School, and Riverside High School.
