If you plan on visiting a loved one at Huron Lodge in Windsor, be sure you take a face mask with you.
While the province plans to let most of its remaining masking mandates expire on Saturday, agencies and organizations in Windsor have come forward to ask residents to continue to wear them, at least on their premises.
Being a long-term care facility, Huron Lodge is not impacted by Ontario's decision to let masking requirements lapse. As a result, all visitors, staff, and residents will still have to wear them.
Earlier this week, Transit Windsor said it was keeping face masks too. The mandate there, and on VIA Rail trains, were issued by the federal government.
The City of Windsor said it would notify the public should mandates be lifted.
Masks will still be required at Windsor Regional Hospital, Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare, and Erie Shores Healthcare until further notice.
There may be other healthcare settings where masking mandates remain in effect. Visitors and patients might want to call ahead to clarify the rules.
