Lakeshore now allows food trucks

Lakeshore is welcoming food trucks to operate throughout the municipality.

Council has amended the zoning by-law to allow food trucks on all private property with the consent of the owner.

“As a Council, we look forward to seeing the fruits of this tasty decision in effect,” said Mayor Tracey Bailey. “Residents and visitors alike can expect to enjoy even more culinary creations this summer!”

As part of the bylaw, trucks are only allowed to operate for up to 24 hours.

Lakeshore staff will monitor the impact of food trucks and report issues to council in the future.

Another by-law that prohibits the sale of any goods or materials on any highway or public property stays in effect. Farmers selling goods produced by them are exempt from this bylaw.
