HuronTel to donate $500K to Kincardine Hospital

HuronTel believes in community.

That was the underlying theme Wednesday, when the 112-year-old company's general manager announced a $500,000 investment into a local hospital.

"This is an investment on behalf of our customers, our staff, and the communities in which we work," Ryan McClinchey said.

The funding is spread out over five years and is going to the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation's (KCHCF) Building Health Care for Generations capital campaign for the redevelopment of Kincardine Hospital. "A strong hospital attracts new physicians, which helps companies like HuronTel attract quality staff, and their families, to the area," McClinchey noted.

The KCHCF was established in 1995 as a non-profit charitable organization for the purpose of raising funds for the hospital.

Becky Fair, President of the KCHCF, was grateful for HuronTel's commitment to the hospital and expects that this will be the first donation of many.

"As a resident of the area, and customer of HuronTel, it’s wonderful to see this level of generosity from such a grass roots organization, which has existed in our community for over 100 years," Fair said.

The KCHCF also announced that when redevelopment of the hospital is finished visitors will be able to wait comfortably in the HuronTel Waiting Area. The organization called it, "a space that will reflect HuronTel’s generosity and commitment to health care."
