Lambton County Council's 2015 budget deliberations begin Wednesday morning.
The draft budget amounts to $188-million and calls for an increase of 2.8 per cent in the amount being raised through taxation.
It's proposed that over $20-million be spent on 71 capital projects including the repaving of county roads where needed and rehabilitation work on Lakeshore Rd, Bentpath Line and Egremont Rd.
Council will also decide on several grant requests made by local organizations .
Lambton College is looking for $5-million over six years to help with construction of a proposed Health Education and Sustainable Care Centre, while Sarnia-Lambton's Economic Partnership needs $155,000 to help with three projects over the year.
Council will also consider grant requests from Stones & Bones Museum, Four Counties Health Services and the Deker Bauer Foundation for Suicide prevention to help cover start up costs for a Sarnia drop-in centre.
Budget deliberations will continue March 26 if needed.
