Sarnia's 16th Annual Celtic Evening

Irish and Highland dancing and lively Celtic music!

That's what's on tap for this weekend's 16th Annual Celtic Evening at the Imperial Oil Centre for the Performing Arts.

40 dancers from the Sarnia School of Irish Dance will showcase their talent during an intricate performance of hard and soft shoe steps. They will be accompanied on stage with a variety of Celtic fiddlers, pipers, Highland dancers, and singers.

This year the School is excited to welcome special guests and renowned Celtic-fusion artists, Rant Maggie Rant. Since their debut, the band has successfully toured Canada and recorded a 3-CD discography.

The Sarnia School of Irish Dance is non-competitive and focuses on traditional Irish dance in costume. A total of 40 students practice at the school, ranging in age from 3 years to adult. They hold separate classes for adults and children on Saturday afternoons at the Sarnia Kinsmen Centre.

Although the Celtic evening is the highlight for the School, students perform throughout the year at various other events including seniors' residences, nursing homes, Canatara Park for Canada Day and other venues. The Celtic Evening is an exciting way to showcase a year's worth of hard work!
