Sarnia's Judith and Norman Alix Art Gallery is preparing for the arrival of Masterworks from Fredericton, New Brunswick's Beaverbrook Art Gallery this fall.
Lambton County is the only stop in central Canada and the northeastern United States.
"For the public, it's the only opportunity to see these kinds of works," says Marketing Consultant Martin Van Zon. "They would have to go to Chicago, to New York, and now they can come to Sarnia to see this."
At a news conference at the gallery this morning, Van Zon said welcoming this exhibit has huge economic impact for the city.
"While they're here, they may have a meal, may buy something at the shops, stay overnight in a hotel. That all adds to the economic impact for the county," he says.
Approximately 10,000 people are estimated to attend over a period of four months to see 75 masterworks from Canada, Europe, and the US.
