A well known former Sarnia broadcaster and sports enthusiast has died. George Ludgate passed away Tuesday. He was hired by Carl Monk in the mid 1950's to broadcast Golden Bear football games on CHOK radio. Former long time CHOK News Director Larry Gordon remembers George working with the late Murray Vosbourgh on the popular "Time Out" sports show. [audio mp3="http://blackburnnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Larry-2-edit1.mp3"][/audio] George Ludgate was founder of the Sarnia Historical Society, served as president of the Sarnia Softball Association,and was a past President of the Sarnia Imperial/Golden bear Quarterback Club. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of George's life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the D.J. Robb Funeral Home.
