The Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour is rolling into Sarnia Tuesday night with events planned through the weekend. About 10 transport trucks are expected to arrive from Summerside, PEI, the most recent stop on the tour. The two-day hockey celebration at the corner of Front St. and George St. begins at noon Saturday and Sunday and features live music and interactive games. Tourism Sarnia-Lambton's Vicky Prail says it's great national exposure for Sarnia. "It's a huge deal. It's a great opportunity for us to showcase our community. They're going across Canada, and to have been selected to host this tour is just unbelievable." A total of $15,000 will be donated to local minor hockey, split between the Sarnia Girls Hockey, Petrolia Minor Hockey and Sarnia Hockey Associations. Several NHL Amumni will be in attendance over the weekend including former Red Wing Darren McCarty, former Leaf Darryl Sittler, Strathroy's Pat Stapleton and Sarnia's own Dino Ciccarelli. Ron MacLean will be broadcasting live from downtown Sarnia Sunday before and during the Calgary at Detroit NHL game.
