Salvation Army Christmas Kettle donations are looking better after a reaching a low on Monday. As of Thursday's count, they've raised almost $86,000 in donations, or 70 per cent of their $118,000 goal. On Monday, the Salvation Army said donations were only at 58 per cent, which is lower than normal for this time of year. Captain Nancy Braye says they're expecting Saturday's fill the kettle event at Walmart to help boost those numbers even more. Those looking to donate can do so until Christmas Eve at various red kettle locations throughout the community. Donations support food bank and family service operations at the Salvation Army.
