The United Way of Sarnia-Lambton's board of directors has approved community investments for the next three years.
Executive Director Dave Brown says the multi-year funding allows the agencies time to do some long range planning.
"Beginning April 1, we will have 20 funded agencies and 37 programs and services," says Brown. "We do have fewer agencies this year than last year. Two fewer agencies but two additional programs."
The Canadian Mental Health Association's Suicide Prevention program, North Lambton Community Health "Opening Doors" and Rebound's Choices Jr. program are being added to the funding portfolio.
Canadian Hearing’s Community Outreach and Epilepsy’s Education & Prevention programs were eliminated from this funding portfolio.
The 2015 campaign was the best ever, reaching the $2-million mark for the first time.
Brown says overall, 42 per cent of the campaign will be invested in youth, 28 per cent in seniors and 30 per cent in families.
