MS Walk Struts Back Into Sarnia-Lambton

The Point Edward Community Hall will be welcoming more than 100 walkers for the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Walk.

One walk is 2 km while the other is 5 km. It begins at 10am on Sunday, April 24 with check-in starting at 8:30am.

Coordinator of fund development Hope Clark says the money goes to the research and to all those who suffer from MS.

"We are a fundraising based organization," she says. "We're a national organization so we rely heavily on fundraising events in order to help people with MS as well as send it to research too."

Hope says MS affects all people differently.

"In southwestern Ontario, there's over 100,000 people that have been diagnosed and living with MS. They vary from each person," she says. "There are different types of MS so it causes scars and then the body systems don't get to talk to one another."

The MS Society of Sarnia-Lambton is hoping to raise $37,000 in this walk and so far they have raised $14,000.
