Awards were handed out at the seventh annual Research Bridges - Graduate Student Symposium at Western's Sarnia-Lambton Research Park Thursday afternoon.
Western University Chemical and Biochemical Engineering students were evaluated by a panel of judges from the community on their projects which highlighted future industrial and commercial applications of research projects.
Chemical and Bio Chemical Engineering Department Chair Dr. Ajay Ray says one of the winning projects is working in research collaboration with CF Industries in Sarnia.
"The student was working on ammonia plant optimization, to improve production of the ammonia or save costs," he says.
Three first prize winners were awarded $500.
