A Sarnia city councillor says the mayor can either resign or change his conduct.
Matt Mitro made the comment on CHOK's The Talk Show With Sue Storr Tuesday morning.
He appeared in the wake of the release of a workplace investigation report that said Mike Bradley harassed and bullied four senior staff members including City Manager Margaret Misek-Evans.
"We can ask for the mayor's resignation," says Mitro. "I don't know that that will be a decision of council, if it goes that way, I don't know anything about how that will go. In this particular case, I see two things as being your options. The mayor can choose to retire or resign in this case, [or] the mayor can stop doing what he's been doing. One of those things has to happen."
The mayor has indicated he has no intention of stepping aside and most callers to the talk show supported him on that.
City council will discuss the ramifications of the workplace investigation at its next meeting October 24.
Council decided in last week's closed meeting to restrict the mayor's after hours and weekend access to city hall but no one informed Bradley of that. Mitro says that was "not the right way to do it."
Should Sarnia Mayor Mike Bradley resign over workplace harassment?
