McNaughton Named To Ford Cabinet

Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MPP Monte McNaughton has been appointed to Ontario Premier Doug Ford's cabinet.

The new PC government was sworn in Friday at Queen's Park.

Included among the new ministers appointed to the cabinet is McNaughton as Minister of Infrastructure.

First elected in 2011, this is McNaughton's third term as MPP, but up until now, he's been on the opposition side of the legislature.

Ford's cabinet has 21 ministers.

The position of health minister goes to Christine Elliott, who returned to politics earlier this winter after years as the province's health ombudsman in order to run for the party leadership. She will also serve as deputy premier.

Vic Fedeli, the party's former interim leader, will serve as finance minister.

Toronto lawyer and businesswoman Caroline Mulroney, a rookie politician and another former contender for the Tory leadership, has been appointed as attorney general.

Bob Bailey, elected to a fourth term as Sarnia-Lambton MPP June 7, has been named Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Government and Consumer Services.
