Potentially severe thunderstorms developed Thursday in advance of a cold front.
A watch posted for Sarnia-Lambton before the noon hour was elevated to a warning for Watford, Pinery Park and eastern Lambton County in the early afternoon.
Meteorologists were tracking a long line of severe storms stretching from the extreme southwest to Georgian Bay, moving rapidly eastward at 70 km/h.
The main threats from the storms included very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain.
Environment Canada ended the warning for north and east Lambton just after 4pm, and said the threat will end for all areas later Thursday evening.
A short warning was issued again around 5:20pm over concerns about storms popping up over the region. That warning was ended just before 6:30pm.
Hydro One reported a few power outages in parts of the county in the wake of the storms, the largest affecting over 1,200 customers south of Petrolia and east of Courtright.
The cold front will bring an end to this week's humid conditions.
A comfortable low of 15 C (59 F) is forecast for Sarnia Thursday night, and a high of 25 C (77) Friday.
Highs in the low 20s are expected Saturday and Sunday.
