Sarnia council wants more information before deciding to reestablish the kiosk reception desk in the lobby at city hall.
Council has asked staff to report back on what would be involved, including the cost, of making that happen.
Mayor Mike Bradley had asked to have it returned within 30 days, saying public response to its elimination in December 2017 was "overwhelmingly negative."

They've been granted a summer noise bylaw exemption for Friday and Saturday nights for the next two years.
The pub can crank up live music on its patio until midnight from June 1 to September 15 this year and next year.

Sarnia council has approved lease amendments with Lambton Mall so city police can relocate within the mall and expand their training space.
The mall owner, Cushman Wakefield, is covering most of the capital cost of the move effective September 1.

Sarnia council has endorsed the city's new parks, recreation and culture plan, which provides recommendations for the next 10 to 15 years.
The document includes plans to upgrade many of the city's present parks with accessible play equipment.
It's recommended Jackson Pool be decommissioned, the pools at Pathways and the YMCA be further promoted for public use, and three new community splash pads be built over the next ten years in the north and west areas of the city.
Building a multi-use facility for indoor soccer and other sports and a beer garden on the St. Clair River waterfront are also recommended.

Sarnia council has accepted a nearly $245,000 tender from Trane Heating a Cooling for a new air conditioner at Sarnia Library.
The main cooling unit failed last fall.
The new unit will be much more energy efficient and is expected to reduce overall operating costs for the facility by about $20,000 each year.

Council has approved the next part of Sarnia's sewer upgrade project.
Birnam Excavating has been awarded a $7.7-million contract for construction of a new sanitary sewer and force main on St. Andrew Street.
The sewer project is one of the largest and most important ongoing projects in the city. Once it's completed, service will be provided to approximately 50 per cent of the city -- including most of the future growth areas.
Currently, the city has limited wastewater servicing capacity in its collection system for new developments.
