Rainy weather puts damper on Cyclone Aid

Cold, rainy weather hampered the 18th annual Cyclone Aid food drive Saturday morning.

Inn of the Good Shepherd spokesperson Adelle Richards said some of the routes did not get covered between 9 a.m. and noon.

She said residents with food donations that were not collected can drop them off at the Inn of the Good Shepherd on John Street, at the Good Shepherd's Lodge on Confederation Street, or at any of the city fire halls.

St. Patrick's High School students, teachers, and volunteers were hoping to collect 40,000 pounds of food which is one month's supply at the Inn food bank.

It's used by 1,850 people each month.
