The Sarnia Fire and Rescue Service will be burning down a house on Blackwell Sideroad Tuesday.
Live fire training at the home, just north of Michigan Avenue, will begin around 9 a.m.
Public Education Officer Mike Otis said there will be a large number of firefighters and equipment on scene.
"It's an older home that's no longer being used and it's been donated to Sarnia Fire and Rescue Services," said Otis.
He said live exercises like this provide an invaluable form of training for firefighters.
"Firefighters practice in training towers all the time, but this will actually be a real house, with real wood and a real structure, so it will be a real fire, as close to a natural fire as possible for training."
Otis said crews will be on-site all day and run numerous scenarios before the home is burnt to the ground in the afternoon.
Smoke and flames will be visible during the controlled burn.
