Pathways Secret Santa Shoppe is returning to in-person shopping this year.
Donor Relations Lead Marcy Draker said they'll kick off the event on Friday, November 26 at 3:30 p.m.
"We are very excited to see all of the children come back to the centre and do some shopping for some of the special people in their lives," said Draker.
But, she said this year you'll have to pre-register to attend, because only six children will be allowed into the shop during each 20 minute time slot.
"You'll find that registration link on our website, www.pathwayscentre.org, and we're going to be asking the community to please register their children for a spot for shopping this year."
Parents or caregivers are asked to arrive with children at their scheduled appointment time, using the aquatic door, and have their shopping list ready.
"They will then allow their child into the shopping area with an elf helper. Mom, and dad, or caregivers, will be waiting on the other side of the shop for when their children have finished their 20 minute shopping time and then they will collect their little shopper and hopefully be on their way with joyful expressions of having a really great experience."
Draker said they're organizing a special night with the Sarnia Sting on Wednesday, December 1.
"Although the shop is open that day from 3:30 p.m. until 8 p.m., the 'Shop with the Sting' time slot will be between 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. on December 1."
Draker said Secret Santa is one of the biggest fundraisers for Pathways Health Centre for children.
"In 2019, we had over 1,100 children come into the Shoppe and we were able to raise over $40,000. Last year, we had to do a curbside Secret Santa. So, although we were happy to still run an event for the community, it did change the dynamics and certainly we weren't able to harness the same amount of funds."
Draker said they're hoping to raise over $40,000 again for programs and services at the centre at 1240 Murphy Road.
