The Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery (JNAAG) is hosting two lectures this month to complement the first exhibition in a series launched to commemorate an important milestone.
JNAAG celebrated its 10 year anniversary in the historic Thom Building earlier this month by launching a series called “Re View.” The first exhibit looks back at the building’s history.
Those interested in attending the in-person lectures, Art & Ideas, will have to preregister.
"Art & Ideas is a series of live discussions focused on expanding the ideas and topics found in current exhibitions or artwork from JNAAG's permanent collection," read a media release.
The first lecture will be led by Archivist Nicole Aszalos on Thursday, November 17 at 7 p.m. Aszalos will go over the evolution of photographs and how to preserve photos for future generations.
The second lecture will be led by Heritage Planner Jack Mallon on Thursday, November 24 at 7 p.m. Mallon will discuss how a tornado in 1953 impacted Sarnia's Victorian architecture and the conservation of the Thom Building.
Both lectures are free to attend.
