A Parole Board of Canada hearing for convicted murderer Donald Campbell has been postponed to January.
Campbell is appealing a decision made in May that denied his request for early conditional release.
Campbell was sentenced to life in prison, with eligibility for full parole after 25 years, over two decades ago following the death of 45-year-old Fenny Campbell in January, 1998.
In a social media post earlier this week, Joel Campbell honoured his mother on the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
He also shared that a new parole hearing had been scheduled for his father on December, 21.
The post was updated later with new information.
"Just this evening our family learned that the new parole hearing for Donald Campbell has been postponed until January, 2023," Joel wrote. "No specific reason was given and no specific date has been provided yet."
Joel told Sarnia News Today he and his siblings, Brent and Alicia, would again be giving victim impact statements at the virtual hearing, appealing to the board to deny their father’s application.
