Sarnia Transit is planning for a more traditional New Year's Eve for the first time in three years.
Transit Manager Michelle Carter said the special bus service goes from 6:30 p.m. on December 31, to 1:30 a.m. on January 1.
"So we will operate New Year's Eve service similar to previous years prior to COVID," said Carter. "It will operate like a Sunday service, so all areas will still be covered."
Carter said it's tough to determine how many people will be riding the bus this Saturday night.
"The popularity really depends on what's going on in the community. So depending on events being held, maybe at local restaurants, is basically how the popularity or ridership of the route is determined."
Carter said public transit is perfect for those who aren't planning on driving at the end of the night.
"They can rely on public transit to get them to and from where they are going."
There will be no service between 11:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. For more details on each route click here.
There will be no bus service on Sunday, New Year's Day.
Also, the City of Sarnia is lifting overnight parking restrictions for New Year's Eve.
