A Sarnia native and former Sarnia Sting player is no longer the associate coach for the Owen Sound Attack.
On Tuesday, the Attack announced that Jordan Hill has stepped down from his role with the hockey club for family reasons.
Hill, 34, joined the Attack as an assistant coach in 2017 before he was promoted to an associate coach in 2021.
In a media release, Hill thanked the team and said it's a tough time to step away.
"I know the state of the team and how close they are to winning. I'm definitely going to be looking forward to watching them from afar next season as they compete for an OHL Championship," said Hill. "I've built some great relationships over the years with current and past players and coaches, and will continue to carry those memories as I move forward."
Owen Sound General Manager Dale DeGray said the circumstances that Jordan came into as a coach, and where he is at now is remarkable.
"He's grown so much, from coming in as a young fresh faced coach, he's really worked hard and crafted his skills into what they are today," said DeGray. "It's sad to see him go. He was a big part of our coaching room, and the dressing room for that matter. He'll be missed, and we wish all the best."
Hill spent three seasons with the Sarnia Sting, between 2007 and 2010. During that time, he scored 13 goals and added 33 assists in 173 games played.
