Lambton College has a series of events planned Friday, September 29, to mark National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
A showcase will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., providing an opportunity to shop, support and learn more about Indigenous-owned businesses.
Indigenous student panelists will speak during an Orange Shirt Day discussion about truths and reflections from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Special remarks will also be made by Walpole Island First Nation Elder Marie Short, Indigenous Education Council Chair Phyllis George, and Lambton College President and CEO Rob Kardas.
The event concludes with the screening of an award-winning short film produced by Walpole Island First Nation's Derek Sands at 12:30 p.m.
All Sacred Things focuses on a group of Indigenous college students reconnecting to their culture.
Their journey leads them to experience the once almost extinct Ojibway Spirit Horses.
The events will be held in the Cestar Group Athletics and Fitness Complex.
Attendees are encouraged to wear orange as a show of support and solidarity.
