A familiar face has returned to Tim Hortons restaurants.
The nationwide Smile Cookie campaign is on from April 27 to May 3 right across the country.
Sales from the specially decorated cookies at the Tim Hortons in Forest will benefit BGC Sarnia-Lambton.
Executive Director Jaylene Henry said she's thrilled to have the support of the campaign, and to raise awareness about the organization at the same time.
"We rely so heavily on community support and funding like this," said Henry. "It really means a lot to us to be able to support a lot of families who otherwise wouldn't get these opportunities for their children. It really opens the doors and truly allows children to have opportunities that they might miss out on otherwise."
The proceeds will go towards BGC's after school and evening drop-in programs in Forest.
"Our after school program, were able to open up our first location in Forest this past September," said Henry. "And then we also have an evening drop in out in Forest that we call The Club, and it has varying degrees of evening activities for the kids."
The week-long campaign in Sarnia will benefit the Inn of the Good Shepherd and in Petrolia money will go towards the Bluewater Health Foundation (BWHF).
In Corunna and Wyoming funds will support Lambton County Developmental Services (LCDS) and East Lambton Elementary and St. Peter Canisius Catholic School will receive funds raised in Watford.
The nationwide campaign launched in 1966 to help raise funds for the Hamilton Children’s Hospital, and has grown to support over 600 charities and organizations across Canada.
Last year, the tasty fundraiser collected $81,654 for the Alzheimer Society of Sarnia-Lambton.
