UPDATE: One person in custody after disturbance at Kettle & Stony Point First Nation

One person is in police custody following a disturbance in Kettle & Stony Point First Nation.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) advised of the increased police presence in the area around 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 6.

Lambton OPP and Anishinabek police responded to an incident on Lake Road, north of Middle Side Road, following reports of a disturbance.

At roughly 7:30 p.m., police closed Lake Road, noting the incident is still ongoing, but there was no threat to public safety.

Roads in the area have since reopened.

Police thank the public for their patience.
