The Sarnia Sting (3-7-0-0) beat the visiting Kingston Frontenacs (1-8-2-1) 7-4 in OHL action on Sunday for their third straight victory.
It follows weekend wins over Barrie and undefeated Oshawa after seven consecutive losses to begin the year.
Sarnia led 3-1 after the first period and 6-3 after the second and were outshot 37-17 including 16-4 in the second period.
Sean Josling and Jamieson Rees led the way for the Sting with a goal and two assists each.
Ryan McGregor, Ryan Roth, and Sam Bitten all had a goal and an assist. Marek Berka scored his first OHL goal and Jacob Perreault rounded out the scoring.
It was McGregor's first game of the season after dealing with an injury for the first few weeks. Roth now has five goals and five assists in his first five games with the Sting after coming over from Sault St. Marie.
Roth said there's still room for improvement. "I think we need to give up fewer shots, obviously, but I also think we need to throw more pucks at the net," said Roth. "We were kind of holding onto them for a little bit too long, but we still did score seven goals so that's pretty good."
The contest featured a pair of fights as Marko Jakovljevic and Zayne Wisdom went toe to toe. Kelton Hatcher and Jakob Brehaney squared off as well. Brehaney was given a fighting instigator on the play.
Theo Hill was handed a five minute major and game misconduct for kneeing in the third period.
Sting rookie goalie Ben Gaudreau picked up his second win in as many games, stopping 33 shots.
The Sting are last place in the West Division with a record of 3-7-0-0. Kingston is last in the entire OHL with one win and five points.
They're back in action for three games this weekend. They head to Peterborough on Thursday, Kingston on Friday, and Ottawa on Sunday on CHOK.
